HOUSE CLOSE - DATE FINAL! SEPT 15, 2006
For all those who are wondering...we are finally closing for SURE on the 15th of September. Everything is all set and ready to go...we have or HUGE cash downpayment ready, contractors rearing to go and BOOM! We have ourselves a house! So what is going on for the next month or so...this:
Sept 15 - CLOSE at 10:00am
Sept 19 - Contractors start work
Work Outline/Order:
1. BRUSH HOG: The little jungle that has grown in around the house and on the lawn will be cut down to make room for further landscaping as we go through our first year in the house. There are bushes grown up all around the house, front and back lawns and etc. This will all be cleared out in preparation for Trash pickup.
2. TRASH!!!: As we agreed to buy the place "as is" the owners are leaving a HEEP of trash in and around the house. Everything from dozens of tires, paint, old fridge, and etc. Its amazing that people could pile up all this CRAP! Anyway, also we will need to clean the house and the cellar of items that they decide to leave behind...mostly trash. This will take the better part of a week to finish. There are also some things that will be demolished such as a out-building, part of the front porch and etc.
3. Finish the House: There are alot of things in the house that we are finishing here is a list from out work schedule of items to finish and upgrade: Finish all the floors (Pine planks finished with Poly-E), Finish Drywall for Kitchen - living room - and upstairs, Finish Living room and second floor cielings (drywall and R-cut lumber light fixture holdings), Take out old staircase and install new Rod Iron Spiral Stairs, Paint all walls/cielings, Finish/install all window and door moldings, install double fold doors no the bathroom and main bedroom, finish bathroom with tile floor and re-paint, and finally install two large view windows in the main bedroom :)
4. BARN/Kennel: Finally, in the end of October, the land west of the house will be leveled and cleared for our new Barn/Kennel. The Barn will be 24' wide and 28' long with one garage door and one regular door. The barn is a gambrel roof and will have two full floors. The second floor we are planning to eventual finish into a "guest apartment" and playroom. Finally there will be extra cement slabs poured around the barn structure for the kennel. It will wrap around 1/2 of the north side of the building...1/2 of the front will be poured cement 6' from the front door and wrap around the side extending 12' past the building edge. The side of the building will have a 12' wide and 36' long patio and the back will be the same as the front (6x12), that would complete all the work for the house!
5. Anything else I forgot? I cant remember if this is all the stuff we are getting done...although this is most of it! All the construction should be done by the end of October into the first week of November. FUN FUN!
